#SpriNoWriMa 2025 Character Meet and Greet

Come on in and show off your amazing characters!

We are nearly one week into #SpriNoWriMa! As word counts continue to climb, we want to give you the chance to share more details about your project! In the spirit of that, we are excited to introduce our first-ever Character Meet and Greet.

In this post, I’ll share with you all some information about the six main characters and as a result, six (yes, six) Points of View (POVs) in my upcoming cosmic horror novel, “For Those About to Vote…” Once that’s done, I’ll invite you to do the same in the comments! Tell us about your main character, your villain, or that one person who’s purely in the story for comedic relief; the choice is up to you!

The Six POVs That Make up For Those About to Vote…

Since my story is set during civilization's final days, I wanted to give readers a wide range of perspectives. These characters come from different walks of life, have had different experiences, and all have opinions about what’s happening.

Here’s the quick pitch for my book:

After destroying a planet-killer asteroid, humanity faces a new threat as an alien parasite spreads across the U.S., mutating hosts seemingly at random.

As quarantine zones reach their limits and Congress convenes to decide the fate of millions, six people will slowly unravel a dark conspiracy thousands of years in the making.

Oliver Reid

Oliver is the personal assistant and campaign manager for Damian Knox, a sitting U.S. Senator for the state of Colorado. After losing his daughter to the parasite, his marriage fell apart, and he turned to a drug called Dilate to numb his pain.

Alice Faden

Alice is an astronaut working for NASA and one of only a handful of people who are told about a planet-killer asteroid's approach. She joins two others on a team to manage the secret orbital defense project that will ultimately destroy it.

Silas Blackwell

Silas is a copywriter for a tech company in California. On a routine business trip, he becomes trapped in the office with his co-workers after sensors detect parasitic spores in the air. The building is locked down—no one can enter or leave.

Claire Garland

Claire is a realtor struggling with a recent cancer diagnosis. As insurance companies refuse to cover her treatment and medical bills pile up, a mysterious benefactor offers her a place in a new clinical trial that sounds too good to be true.

Emil Holst

Emil is a struggling musician who witnesses inexplicable events during a robbery at a local convenience store. In search of the truth, he descends down a rabbit hole of strange conspiracies regarding the true nature of the alien parasite.

Piper Windsor

As the daughter of tech billionaire Mark Windsor, Piper finds it difficult to stay out of the public eye. When she discovers evidence that her father knew about the parasite hiding in the asteroid, she'll stop at nothing to expose his lies.
